Look If You Don’t They Will – And Now…

Dr. Joe Vitale a nationally recognized marketing guru
makes the point constantly that the universe loves speed,
meaning, when you get an idea, don’t sit on it, act on it.
Don’t think about it (much), put it into play, and see if
it moves something into a different phase? One of my
favorite mentors is a fellow named Chris Voss, he has a
Podcast plus blog plus Net show he does in which Chris
just blows you away with info- can you tell he is “my man!”
On one of his blogs Chris gets off on Facebook, and really
I’m starting to see his point, I like Facebook as well, but
if you are into marketing products over the web, my goodness
consider this chart:

Okay, now for the kicker…you knew there had to be one,
right? Check out where the mighty Twitter has landed itself?
Six months back the clamor over Twitter was so loud you
couldn’t hear your tweets as they came in? “What happened?”
You ask, “glad you asked, here is my guess…” Twitter had
some hangups that they’ve gotten past I hope, about how you
did what you did in terms of Tweeting…and in being kind of
Twitter management of posts happy, I think they got legal minded
about who could tweet what and when and where, and they forgot
who was payin’ the bill? Now I’m thankful for Twitter don’t
misunderstand me, it’s a tremendous way to get the word out,
on some things, but it isn’t nearly as well used as Facebook
according to this review. So for my money, I guess I better
learn how to tweak out the Face, huh?

Here is why you needn’t FEAR

I’ll fear for you…there, now that we’ve got that out of the way,
you don’t have to fear anymore, just let me know you want
me to fear for you, and I will, simple, right?

Nope, it just isn’t that simple is it,
because you know,
only you can fear
like you fear, nobody else will.
Which is challenging to the people who want so
badly to convince you that fear is bad
thing. Understand, fear is not bad, nor good,
it is, an emotion, but it has some interesting
byproducts which those who want
to tell you not to fear, fail to note.

Remember how people always
seem to quote Franklin Roosevelt’s famous words here:
“All we have to fear, is; fear itself.” Well that’s a tragically
misquoted statement. Oh, he made it, alright, but if you look
at the entire speech, and the circumstances we were in; trust
me, F.D.R. knew only too well what fear would do to this country!

And it did, and we mobilized as no other nation in human history
has ever mobilized; and, we haven’t recovered from that experience
to this day- that’s actually an unfortunate truth of the inheritance of
those changes, they changed America, and at least for the foreseeable
future, America is still reeling from those days. Now back to fear…

Fear is how you know that you are in a situation where the result
is going to be something beyond you.

That’s not necessarily bad, it is; just what it is, a result that you
couldn’t possibly anticipate. But that doesn’t mean bad, it can
mean, good, it can mean, you missed the whole deal, and your
feeling of fear was useless, there are literally three choices that
you get to make about any circumstance, you can—

Accept it
Deny it (Reject it)
Change it

So fear prepares you to “get after it,” and in decision making
that can sometimes be a very good thing, you may need to,
maybe you need clear perception about an attack upon
your ability to make decisions? Maybe you need to get
into offensive mode to take on the people who are manufacturing
such stuff?

Fear also gets your body goin’ – the Adrenal gland comes into
play and a very nice hormone, which is very powerful, called
Adrenaline, comes into play. This is the hormone where,
when a car was fixin’ to fall on her baby, a mom just picked
it up! You have heard those sorts of stories, but the odd thing
is, they are true. Adrenaline is powerful; and, it can do bad
things to you if it isn’t taken care of, which brings us back to
the unreal people who want you to buy into not fearing.

Seriously consider that you cannot; not fear, anymore than you
cannot, breathe air- it is nearly autonomic, and there is a reason
for that which has to do with one of the most powerful drives
that exist in a human, the drive to live.

Fear is attached at the hip to this drive, so,
it happens nearly automatically, notice
I did say nearly, because, we have the split second of choice,
which Steven Covey discusses in his master work “The 7 Habits
of Highly Effective People.” In this masterwork Covey points
out that we aren’t a product of our glands, we can and should
make a choice.

Will you let me take that one step up and say, yes
we do have a choice, but, we should be honest with ourselves
about fear, versus other emotions similar to fear?

Fear is more instantaneous, and therefore,
my sense is that while you might
be able to take a split second to really grasp
what is heading your way, you shouldn’t struggle
to control it as the Bear charges at you!

which occurs ahead of time.

Why Mari, Chris and Sean Are Easy 2 Love

First impressions mean something to somebody, but they don’t
mean a thing to me- I’m into people for the long haul, NOW,
having said that; if they seem cool, my tendency is to try
and see if they might turn into a style fit for networking?
If you don’t know what a “style fit” is (don’t worry, odds
are you think you know, guess what, odds are, you don’t but
that’s no big deal…smile and breathe…:-) ) and a style
fit is very important to your success.

Mari Smith is a wonderful leader, an amazing source of
tremendous knowledge and, Mari has a magnificent sense of
humor which comes out in her methods. She really does
impress me with her style. Mari makes many, MANY; great points
about how to succeed with social media networking, and, did
I mention, Mari has a fantastic sense of humor?

Chris Voss first impressed me when we got crosswired in a bad
mixed up misunderstanding where I got (and this is rare) hot!
I thought that some folks were really runnin’ me into the
ground ( sometimes – rarely – but sometimes, that can happen-
and we’ll talk about business as war in 3Deep) and I mistook
that Chris was one of them. But here is what impressed me-
this incredible leader, this super courageous guy, who has
a list of multiples of thousands who consider him worth
taking in, called me to make peace. Look I don’t care what
you say about successful people, Chris has shown me over time
that he: 1) Really knows his stuff, he knows this technology
and I listen to him about it. 2) Chris isn’t afraid to get
very personal, to touch out to people, and that’s exactly the
right way to be. 3) Chris has a sense of humor- and it’s not
the negative type that the world pushes, it is, cool.

Sean Donahoe – cannot say enough about Sean- he is one of the
gentlemen of the social media business, and Sean bothers to
pay attention to how his people are doing. Sean gets back with
you, not an autoresponder, and even though Sean is in charge of
a network that is vast, international, and full of super charged
energy- Sean will take the time to get back with you, and that
matters huge. As to knowledge, Sean puts out new material in
a very regular fashion, and when he does, I just sit back with
my mouth open in wonder because Sean is so right on, so cutting
edge, but so clear about how to do it. Sean is a truly incredible
leader, a great trend spotter, and a fantastic visionary of the web.

These three, Mari Smith, Chris Voss and Sean Donahoe easily earn
your respect, you really ought to check them out, my personal
guaranty to you, my word to you is, I’ve checked them out and they
are rock solid to the person, honest to the extreme, they are
the real “stuff” that will help you in social media networking.
My task with you is even more intense, but this article isn’t to
talk about drd4u, and 3Deep, those will come with time for you,
this article is to talk about these wonderful individuals who
contribute so much to the business of social media networking
and to your success as you join us. To say that Mari Smith,
Chris Voss and Sean Donahoe are leaders is true, to say that
they are inspiration at it’s finest, is my personal note to you.

And on the cutting edge as we have promised…3Deep is getting
done and we are checking out a presenter named Shawna Schuh -
Shawna seems to have it together on YouTube, and I’ve watched
some of her presentations they are excellent.

Two Things

If it were just one single item that kept you from being
a success, wouldn’t that be easy to overcome? You could
just isolate it, and, either stop doing what you shouldn’t
be, or start doing what you weren’t, right? That would
be easy, wouldn’t it? Well then, why isn’t everybody
a success? It’s not just one thing, is it?

The point here is that it is usually one thing, plus
something else, and by the time we spot that something
else, we are in a state of confusion about what to
do. A friend pointed this out so clearly to me when
they asked for some help, they asked for specifics,
and got general pointers, so they came back with a
well mannered response that added up to: “Look I
know that you think that you understand what I
meant, but I’m not sure that what I said was
what you heard.” Which is a very nice way of
saying that the needed information hadn’t gotten
there yet. Which is what happens so often
when people are in business, they believe that
they see the whole picture, when in truth they
only see a portion of the whole picture, sort of
like when you believe it is only one thing, but
find out, it really was something else too.

So when you find yourself ready to ask, “well,
OK great, what do I do about this?” Remember
that we specialize in helping folks put
together business plans to produce profits
within a short and measurable amount of time.

Money Fast – OR – Money- made?

We live in a time when people have a tendency to want to
see results, right now; and when those results don’t happen
right now; they get very frustrated. This leads to many of
the start ups not finishing the course, and, a lot of them
ending their run earlier than is good. So several things
happen that are not the best for the business, here is
why:

1) If they could only stave off the end for a
few more weeks – they’d find success occurring.

2) The downward spiral of negative transactions can
be stopped and then turned around by hard PR work,
but that, takes a certain “stick-to-it”-ive-ness,
which quitting, stopping, ending won’t allow to happen.

3) The upward spiral goes into play the same way
that the downward spiral does, going up for success
and positive things, going down for ending and
negative things. This spiral of success is quoted
by Bill Gates in his outing as an authored best
seller called “The Road Ahead.”
It is sometimes cool to take a
look at what he said would happen and then
look around. He is staggeringly accurate!

So the answer is, don’t throw in the towel!

Ocober run- What about them nines?

The October challenge, find amazing parts of theology and
then each day bring one paragraph to you the reader about that.
Heard an expert last evening talking about the languages,
said that only two languages were numbers based languages,
in other words, they used some sort of numbering system within
their language, Hebrew and Greek, the two languages of the Bible.
Interesting tidbit, theologically it certainly adds an interesting
touch to the theology we’re going to spend some paragraphs in,
which is eschatology, or, the end things. In both systems of
languages and cultural nuance, three symbolically stood for
complete, and so it’s easy to see why, three times three would
be, awesomely complete, wouldn’t that make sense? In the actions
of human living a pregnancy through takes nine months – so
the giving of life, is also culturally in the ambiance. Nines-
a ninth, a portion which is divinely appointed. Hmm, sort
of makes a person wonder at these Bible passages:

Lev 23:32 It [shall be] unto you a sabbath of rest,
and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth [day] of
the month at even, from even unto even,
shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

Mat 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness
over all the land unto the ninth hour.
Mat 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried
with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?
that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Act 10:30 And Cornelius said, Four days
ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the
ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold,
a man stood before me in bright clothing,

October run – Eight you say?

The October challenge, find amazing parts of theology and
then each day bring one paragraph to you the reader about that.
Are we delusional, or, realistic, and, how would we know?
Pause momentarily and consider how difficult it is to
determine what truth is? What do you suppose Jesus would
respond if asked what the truth is? What do you suppose
is so troubling to us about it, you see, right now you are
saying; “I don’t have a problem with knowing what the truth
is.” And as you are saying that, you know full good and well
that no two people ever see the same thing in the same way,
do they? And so we come to the a very bizarre and yet odd
fact of what we are about, while we can get close to another
person, we never really know them, do we? Little wonder
then that Christ would say:
Mat 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of
you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that
they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my
Father which is in heaven.

October Run – Plus – An Additional Seventh Portion

The October challenge, find amazing parts of theology and
then each day bring one paragraph to you the reader about that.
Sometimes when it is late at night, and a singular
message movie is on, like this evening, and this
movie, “The Postman,” a Kevin Kostner movie,
which while it will rankle some of my “thou
shalt not watch R rated movies” folks- I watch,
because it’s after the horror of apocalypse
message is a powerful one. Yes a person has to
look past some pretty shocking realities portrayed
in the movie, but isn’t that life, finally, really?
Here is what frightens me during those times,
the distinct possibility that death won’t greet me,
and the second coming will not have occurred,
but instead, the fragile and delicate threads which
bind this great nation of America together, will
come unraveled in such a way that leaves us
scattered, shattered, sheltered but without hope.
This is just one paragraph, but bear in mind that
theologically the end of time may happen a little
differently than what folks are commonly
talking about; and the average way you hear it
laid down, don’t make it so- and what is most
dangerous of all is pretending that we’re ready-
the most frightening fact of all is that we not
only aren’t prepared for most disasters, we
have actually deluded ourselves to believe
that we won’t survive them- see it’s horrible
when loved ones die, when all around you is death,
but what’s most horrible of all is when you live,
but you wish, you hadn’t- because you could have
been prepared, but you chose to bury your head
in the clouds instead of working the harshness
of the sands. Don’t take my word for it, just ask
anyone who lived through 9/11 – who got out
of the towers, ask anyone who got out of the
most insane Hurricane in recent human history-
or anyone who survived the countless horrific
disasters like Mt. St. Helens, or on a global
scale, where the ill preparedness accurately
accused the U.N. of their total neglect of the
need for it, ask anyone who survived India’s
horrific Tsunami’s- or China’s incredible floods
where the body count is still not clear- ask
them- if they’d prepare better today?
